Less than two weeks after receiving Federal Aviation Administration type certification for the all-new G700 business jet, Gulfstream Aerospace has earned FAA production and interior supplemental type certifications for the interior outfitting of the G700 and its cabin air purification system.

Demonstrated Program Maturity

Gulfstream says the FAA production certification signifies that its production processes comply with federal aviation regulations. The FAA conducted an extensive audit of Gulfstream’s engineering, supplier, manufacturing, and quality systems to ensure that it produces the G700 per the FAA-approved design, says Gulfstream.

“Receiving these additional clearances so quickly on the heels of FAA type certification showcases how mature the G700 program is,” says Gulfstream President Mark Burns. “Thanks to the investments made in advanced manufacturing and interior innovations, operators will benefit from the industry-leading quality, fit, and finish of the G700. We look forward to our customers experiencing firsthand the cabin comfort and performance capabilities of this fine aircraft.”

The G700’s Ultra-Cabin

Gulfstream says the 19-passenger G700 boasts the business aviation sector’s most spacious cabin. The ultra-large cabin earned Gulfstream a 2022 International Yacht & Aviation Award. Customers can configure up to five living areas.

Along with the cabin air purification air system, the cabin features “whisper-quiet” sound levels and plenty of natural light. The aircraft’s 20 oval windows are among the industry’s largest. Gulfstream also says the G700 has the segment’s lowest cabin altitude: 2,840 feet (866 meters) while flying at 41,000 ft (12,500 m).

Outstanding Performance

Gulfstream also announced two new performance improvements for the jet. These included a balanced field length takeoff distance of 5,995 ft (1,827 m) and a landing distance of 3,150 ft (960 m), both shorter than initially expected.

Gulfstream’s flagship has a maximum flight range of 7,750 nautical miles (14,350 kilometers). Its maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935 is the fastest in Gulfstream’s fleet. The plane has a top cruise speed of Mach 0.90 and a long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85.
