Back in October 2018, Textron Aviation and leading fractional aircraft ownership company NetJets announced a fleet agreement deal that gives NetJets the option to purchase up to 175 Cessna Citation Longitude business jets and up to 150 Cessna Citation Hemisphere aircraft. In early January, Textron announced that NetJets took delivery of the first of those Longitudes on December 31st and will enter it into service early this year. Since 1984, NetJets has operated of a fleet of Cessna Citations that now numbers roughly 500 aircraft, including 100-plus Citation Latitude models.

“Redefining Its Category”

The 12-passenger Longitude, billed as the flagship of the Citation family of business jets, received its Federal Aviation Administration certification in September. Ron Draper, Textron Aviation CEO and president, says the addition of the super-midsized Longitude to NetJets’ fleet further strengthens the companies’ relationship. “The Longitude, with class-leading performance, efficiency, and an unrivaled cabin experience, is already redefining its category and will join the Citation Latitude as fleet favorites for NetJets owners,” he says.

NetJets’ Longitude features a standard double-club configuration with eight fully berthable seats. Textron says the configuration delivers the most legroom in the super-midsize class. With four passengers on board, the Longitude has a 3,500-nautical-mile (6,482-kilometer) range. The aircraft’s full fuel payload is 1,600 pounds (726 kilograms). Elsewhere, Textron says it designed the Longitude “to elevate passenger expectations in the super-midsize class by delivering cabin sound levels that are nearly twice as quiet as the nearest competitor.”
