In a report highlighting it aircraft deliveries during Q2 2020, Brazil’s Embraer says it delivered 17 jets total for the quarter, broken down to 13 executive jets and four commercial jets. Although the total is down from previous years for the same time period, Embraer notes the decline was large due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (Photo courtesy of Embraer.)

Embraer recently reported it delivered 13 executive jets in 2020’s second quarter, including nine light and four large models. The Brazil-based manufacturer delivered 17 jets overall during the quarter, the other four being commercial jets. Compared to the same quarter in previous years, Embraer delivered fewer business and commercial jets in 2020, but says that’s “largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic that is affecting the world.” At June’s end, Embraer’s firm order backlog totaled $15.4 billion.

1,600 & Counting

Founded in 1969, Embraer has delivered 8,000-plus aircraft to date. Q2 2020 highlights include the first delivery of its new Phenom 300E executive jet to a Texas-based law firm, and the delivery of the 1,600th aircraft from its E-Jets lineup to Helvetic Airways . Helvetic Airways also upgraded a firm order with Embraer by converting four E190-E2 jets in its backlog to the larger E195-E2, leaving it with an order for eight E190-E2s, four E195-E2s, and purchase rights to 12 more E-Jets E2 aircraft.

In other Embraer news, Congo Airways converted a firm order placed in December 2019 for two E175 jets with purchase rights for two more to a firm order for two E190-E2s with purchase rights for two more. In the Defense & Security segment, Embraer delivered its third C-390 Millennium multi-mission medium airlifter to the Brazilian Air Force, which is to receive another 25 Embraer aircraft.
